Bid Manager

About the Role

The Bid Manager is responsible for ensuring BetterGov’s chances of securing new work are maximised through the submission of compliant quality bids. You will work closely with the Client Partners and wider stakeholders to proactively ensure that the bid process is managed and improved upon where required; manage sourcing bid opportunities; respond to feedback and provide insight on bid performance.

What you’ll do within our teams

  • Ensure that each bid follows the bid management process and in particular the various stage gates for internal approval
  • Ensure CRM is maintained and updated in relation to the bids triaged and being progressed to provide accurate reporting for the pipeline
  • Support framework submission contributors following the ‘Responding to bids’ criteria
  • Ensure that all bid questions are understood in detail and seek any clarification needed
  • Ensure all documentation and Requests for Information (RFIs) are addressed in a timely manner and evidence of receipt is obtained
  • Support and ensure presentations are prepared, rehearsed, and scheduled ahead of delivery with sufficient time to address any issues encountered
  • Gathering feedback for bids (successful as well as unsuccessful) and make this available to the wider team
  • Analyse feedback and identify best practice and improvements
  • Track and monitor overall bid performance

You will suit this role if you

  • Previous experience in a bid writing role ideally within a technology focused business
  • You will be commercially aware helping to coordinate and check all elements of the proposal, including pricing and commercial model responses
  • Excellent communication skills, and be able to build relationships at all levels, with both internal and external clients
  • Experience of working within remote business development teams is advantageous
  • You must be able to handle pressure, and prioritise tasks effectively while working towards deadlines
  • You must be thorough and have attention to detail in all areas to drive high-standards and quality levels
  • You must be dynamic and professional, and willing to be flexible to accommodate the demands of client deadline
  • You must be an advanced user of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and a competent user of Excel

Holiday Allowance

25 days holiday plus bank holidays. In addition, BetterGov also typically give staff time off between the Christmas and New Year period.
