About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Consultant to help grow and strengthen BetterGov’s Defence portfolio.
This role combines client relationship ownership, account development and business growth, while staying closely connected to delivery. It is not a pure business development role. Success comes from building trust, understanding Defence priorities, shaping opportunities and delivering real outcomes for clients.
You will work with senior Defence stakeholders, take ownership of key client relationships and help position BetterGov as a long-term transformation partner.
Alongside this, you will maintain an active billable role, ensuring you stay close to client challenges and delivery realities.
What you’ll do within our teams
- Build and maintain trusted relationships across Defence clients, acting as a strategic partner and advisor.
- Own and grow client accounts, identifying opportunities to expand relationships through insight led engagement.
- Support the shaping and winning of new work, contributing to proposals, frameworks and tenders.
- Work closely with delivery teams to ensure client expectations are met and outcomes are delivered, while bringing insight back into BetterGov to inform future opportunities.
You will suit this role if you
- Have experience working in or with UK Defence or central government environments and are confident engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Bring a strong relationship driven mindset, balanced with commercial awareness and delivery credibility.
- Understand digital transformation and modern delivery approaches and can connect client challenges to practical solutions.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity, proactive in spotting opportunities and motivated by long term partnership building.
Security Clearance and working arrangements
- This role requires UK Security Clearance or higher.
- The role is hybrid, with travel to Defence client sites as required.
