Richmond and Wandsworth Councils successfully launched a unified Mosaic System for adults and children’s services at the end of November 2020. This joint venture marks a significant milestone in England, streamlining operations and enhancing service delivery for the councils and residents.
This accomplishment was made possible through the collaboration with BetterGov and other vital partners, achieving the intricate task of implementing a multi-borough system. The foundation for this initiative was laid four years prior when Richmond and Wandsworth councils began a shared staffing arrangement, allowing social work staff to operate across both boroughs.
The integration was deepened by merging their social care and financial systems using Servelec’s Mosaic, eliminating redundant processes and unifying business operations across the teams. This shift streamlined workflow and reduced the overhead of maintaining separate systems for front-office and back-office functions.
Why BetterGov
BetterGov has a robust social care IT integration track record, having previously consolidated multiple Mosaic systems into a single management and financial framework for adult social Care in Hammersmith, Kensington & Chelsea, and Westminster councils.
The project required a nuanced and experienced approach to satisfy the adult services in Richmond and the specific needs of Wandsworth’s Children’s Services. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which saw many project team members redeployed to pandemic-related duties, the project maintained momentum through early 2020.
This launch is just the beginning for Richmond and Wandsworth councils, setting the stage for accelerated advancements in health integration and ongoing digital transformation initiatives.
